CARING ABOUT YOUR NURSES IN TURN MAKES THEM CARE ABOUT YOU

PROBLEM
 

Since nurses really are the backbone of a good hospital, when your competitor goes and builds a hospital right in your backyard and then starts advertising for nurses to fill it up, you’ve got to act fast.

In this case, the campaign really had to serve two masters. While it needed to help retain the nurses that St.Vincent currently had on-staff, it also had to serve the purpose of recruitment.


SOLUTION
  What St.Vincent had in it’s favor was that, because it was such a good place to work their nursing staff had more experience than their competition. See their nurses liked to stick around. So with print, outdoor, television and radio St.Vincent put the word out and they tried to show their nurses the same kind of kindness their nurse showed their patients.

RESULT
  Just as the patients at St.Vincent really appreciate their nurses, the nurse of St.Vincent really appreciated this message. Not only that, but the number of hits to their nurse recruitment web site skyrocketed.

SIDE NOTE
  Many of the nurses who left to join the new hospital, and the “greener grass” actually ended up coming back to St.Vincent. As it turns out, sometimes being a good employer can be you best recruitment tool.
